Amagansett - On Saturday, July 23 hundreds of guests danced, ate and showed their support at the annual
Rock The Farm benefit held on the field of Ocean View Farm in Amagansett.
The bands harmonies ripped through the open air as the sun set on people having a great time and supporting an even better cause, the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

The WWP was created to connect injured service members and supply basic services for them including peer mentoring programs as well as keeping veterans and their families up to date with local and federal government issues. The WWP program was created by a group of veterans in Virginia with the vision of helping others.
The annual event was once again sold out thanks to a few hundred patrons who paid $125 a ticket for the great cause. Under the large tent a stage held amazing performers of the night including
Toots and The Maytals,
The Born Again Baldwins,
The Rebecca Haviland Band, and
Jeremy McComb. Also under the tent were two open bars and a full buffet of great American BBQ food including delicious burgers and hotdogs and corn on the cob and shrimp cocktail.
Many of the wounded warriors and veterans were present and making rounds shaking hands and enjoying their time with their family and friends. "This is a great moment for me and my family because my brother served our country proud" stated
Hayley Curtis of Southampton. "I am very honored to be called his sister and find what he did heroic in so many ways, all of these guys here tonight are heroes." The grateful crowd was able to let loose and enjoy their freedom with the ones who protect it so firmly.
As the Rebecca Haviland Band rocked the night away many of the guests took a break from dancing and eating to stop by the auction tent which supplied many great prizes, including custom made bicycles, art work, gift bags supplied by Nine West and J.Crew as well as bottles of wine by local vineyards. Other great gifts included handbags from Juicy Couture and gift cards to many of the Hamptons hottest eateries.
This event symbolized why so many are very proud and honored to call themselves an American, as well as a very humbling experience to spend the day with the men and women who risk their lives for this country. All net proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
