East Hampton - Nothing inspires and enriches the soul more than a tranquil stroll through a fragrant garden. All of the senses can be pleasantly overwhelmed during a walk down a garden path with the sound of a hidden water feature, the scent of flowering blossoms, the touch of unique foliage, the vista of a meadow blooming in a riot of color, and the taste of fresh herbs in a kitchen garden. What better way to get inspired and recharge the soul at the end of the busy summer season than with a meandering tour of some of the most exemplary Hamptons garden retreats on view during the
Guild Hall "Garden As Art: Designers Choice" tour on Saturday, August 28.
The theme of this year's tour placed the curating efforts on the task lists of the area's most revered landscape architects and garden designers including Dianne B., Victoria Fensterer, Edmund Hollander, Craig James Socia, and Eric Groft. Each professional used their keen eye and sense of design to choose seven estates offering the most interesting and compelling slices of Eden. Also included on the tour are Robert Dash's Madoo Conservatory and Jack Lenor Larsen's
LongHouse Reserve.
