AIA Peconic Seeks Applicants For Two 2010 Grants

For Study of Architecture

Hampton Bays - AIA Peconic, the Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for the East End of Long Island, New York, seeks applications for two Grants to be awarded in 2010.

The Financial Aid Scholarship is open to any undergraduate or graduate student about to start, or currently enrolled in, an accredited School of Architecture. The student must have graduated from any High School in one of the East End Towns; Riverhead, Southhold, Shelter Island, East Hampton or Southampton, New York. The application deadline is May 17, with award notification on June 4. The Scholarship amount is up to $4,500.

The Merit Scholarship is open to any undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in, and having completed their first year of, an accredited School of
Architecture. The student must have graduated from any High School in one of the East End Towns. The application deadline is May 17, with notification of the award given by June 4, 2010 with a scholarship amount up to $3,000.

The AIA Peconic Scholarships have assisted local area students from East Hampton High School, Riverhead High School, Greenport High school, Southampton High School, Ross School, Hampton Bays High School and McGann-Mercy.

Recipients have attended the Maryland Institute College of Art, New York Institute of Technology, the University of Hawaii, City College of New York, the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California, Philadelphia University, the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture, and Parsons The New School for Design.
