East Hampton - On Saturday, June 26,
Longhouse Reserve presents two special events: Planters: On & Off the Ground III and Open Bowls & Music Festival of the Hamptons Concert: Aeolus Quintet.
First, look to the professionals as they display their creations at LHR's Planters On & Off the Ground III invitational. Using hand-picked vessels to inspire container garden design, experts choose plants with care and position them lovingly - ever conscious of the Gestalt - the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Containers will be judged this year by a designer of historically inspired and original garden furniture, exterior decorator,
John Danzer Founder of Munder-Skiles. Danzer's work can be seen in public and private gardens worldwide. This event is proving so popular that winners of last year's invitational can be seen on P. Allen Smith's Garden Home series on cable television.

This year a competition of Open Bowls - those decorative objects special enough to stand alone in one's garden will also be held. Be there to see Danzer's ribbon-winning urns, baskets of historical design and architectural scale planters. You'll find them on display between Mia Westerlund Roosen's Battenkill and Abby Jane's Path.
Next, join us for the first of two summer concerts LHR will offer this season in collaboration with the Music Festival of the Hamptons. Held in the gardens, near
Yoko Ono's "Play it by Trust," the air will be filled with the sounds of beautiful music.
