Avon, CT - With global warming and water and soil pollution becoming a very real threat, it's time for families to get serious about finding ways to conserve their environment - starting with their trash, according to Kristin Webster, Founder of Live and Dream Green LLC.

So Webster came up with a solution - ReSnackIt - which gives families the chance to dramatically reduce the amount of non-recyclable trash they produce each week with her one of a kind reusable snack and sandwich bags.

With no business experience, but as a former Health Education teacher, Webster undertook the long and sometimes difficult road to designing and manufacturing the bags.

"Plastic bags take over 1,000 years to photodegrade, not biodegrade," says Webster. "As they do toxic substances leach into soil and enter our food chain. Plastic bags will be around for centuries contaminating our earth."

ReSnackIt's reusable snack and sandwich bags are made of washable cotton and nylon and snugly secured with Velcro to make it the perfect easy-to-use accessory for little fingers. The reusable bags can be placed in the clothes washer or dishwasher.

Webster continues "ReSnackIt keeps sandwiches and snacks fresh because of a coating on the underside of the lining, away from the food, which allows contents to retain moisture - no dried out bread, and the fold over design and Velcro on the front of the bag keeps contents and freshness inside. ReSnackIt is lined with nylon that is free from lead, phthalates, BPA and PVC. The bags are available for individual sale from retailers throughout Vermont, Connecticut, Ohio and New York and through the ReSnackIt website. Webster was kind enough to send us a set of the bags which we put to our own 'kid test' by having the daughters of our Executive Editor try them out. Both Sidney, 5, (Kindergarten), and her sister Ainsley, 6, (First Grade) deemed the bags "very cool." According to their mother, "The food stayed fresh and dry, and to be able to throw these bags in the dishwasher is just great." ReSnackIt currently comes in two sizes and 14 fabric choices.

It is estimated that 20 million plastic baggies are being thrown away each week in U.S. schools, so kudos and thanks to Webster for coming up with a solution to help the environment, and which offers both a practical and eco-friendly choice to an everyday problem that helps us all.
