Southampton - On your wedding day, probably the most important day of your life, you'll be a rock star. All eyes will be on you at all times. In addition, you'll be starring in photographs with your fiancé, your bridal party, your family and friends - all day long. Every bride of course, wants to look her very best, but achieving a picture perfect look that will last for the duration of your wedding day requires months of advance prepping.
It starts with your hair. Make an appointment as soon as possible at your favorite hair salon to discuss how you might want to look with your headpiece and veil. It's a good idea to bring in both pieces as well as photos of hairstyles that you like, so you can discuss how each one will work (your wedding gown will also be a consideration). If you color your hair, discuss with the stylist whether you should let the color grow out as well, as you will want the tone to look fresh and gleaming on your wedding. To achieve that, you will likely require a touch up two weeks prior to the big day. Once you've met with the stylist, allow your hair to grow out of its current cut, so that you can have it periodically trimmed according to the hairdo you want for your wedding day.
Then set up an exploratory session with your make-up artist. If you have a firm notion of how you want to look for your wedding, it's critical for you to communicate your desired aesthetic very clearly. However, do allow the professionals to make recommendations and suggestions. A good cosmetician will know how to make you look stunning not only for the wedding itself, but for all the photographs that will be taken of you.

For example, tinting your eyelashes or wearing false eyelashes may be something you would never consider, but when done properly, they can work wonders on your photos. Also, remember that while your make-up may seem heavier than usual, it will look natural on camera. A basic rule of thumb for you to know is: strong eyes, soft lips; strong lips, soft eyes.
Other beauty essentials to work on in advance include your eyebrows, which should be grown out and then waxed periodically by an expert to achieve the perfect shape. Set up manicures and pedicures frequently, for optimum nail strength and health. Visit a reputable spa early, and set up a regular facial regiment that will clear blemishes and blackheads. Ask about other treatments, such as peels, that will rejuvenate your skin. The key is to experiment early, so there's no risk of allergic or other type of reaction just days before your wedding.
Lastly, you may not think stress will show up on your photographs, but let's face it - there is hardly any endeavor more taxing than planning a wedding. So just prior to the day, schedule a relaxing massage for yourself. And time allowing, take a warm, soothing bath on the wedding morning. The calming effects will help you stay composed and unruffled, and photo perfect!
