Vows With Views

A cocktail reception at the Crescent Beach Club includes comfortable breezes from the Long Island Sound. (Crescent)

Southampton - Winter is officially here, but if you're planning your wedding, do consider a warm-weather waterfront reception. Living on Long Island offers a unique opportunity to augment this most special day with dazzling vistas - and of course, fabulous photo opportunities. So take advantage of the ocean or the sound, by exploring some of these wedding venues:

The Allegria Hotel & Spa in Long Beach, which sits directly on the beach, features this stylish ballroom. (Allegria)

 • Vast ocean views can be found at Allegria Hotel & Spa (www.allegriahotel.com) in Long Beach, a super chic, contemporary venue unlike any other on Long Island - it's directly on the beach, so you can't miss the water even if you tried. The décor is sexy-meets-surf, but here's a bonus to hosting your wedding there: superstar chef Todd Jacobs provides a unique culinary experience.

 • Built in 1929, the Montauk Yacht Club and Marina (www.montaukyachtclub.com) was originally an exclusive club for the wealthy, such as the Astors and Vanderbilts. A recent multi-million dollar renovation retained the casual and stylish New England décor. Overlooking Lake Montauk, there are plenty of picture-perfect spots for the reception and ceremony here, including a private beach, a pool patio, a pristine lawn overlooking the marina, a bar patio and a grand ballroom.

 • Located in quaint Sayville, Land's End (www.landsendweddings.com) offers a ballroom, cocktail lounge, canopied deck and manicured gardens, with the Great South Bay as a backdrop. From an intimate, casual wedding to a more formal event, Land's End holds only one wedding at a time, which means the staff is devoted completely to the day's event.

 • Is there anything more romantic than a breathtaking, waterfront sunset? You can have that at the Venetian Yacht Club in Babylon (www.venetianyachtclub.com), which boasts dramatic views of the Great South Bay. An array of banquet rooms and outdoor areas are available to fit a variety of wedding styles. Plus, top shelf liquors, white glove service and a staff of professionals are always on hand to tend to every wedding day detail.

 • The Crescent Beach Club (www.thecrescentbeachclub.com) sits on the North Shore, providing stunning views of the Long Island Sound. This venue offers a complete beach-wedding experience, so you can say your "I Do's" right by the water, and then host a sand-and-sea-breeze outdoor reception. In addition, you can customize your affair according to your personal style and taste - whether a black tie wedding, a super-casual celebration, or anything in between.

 • Set within the Westhampton Bath and Tennis Hotel and Marina, Oceanbleu (www.oceanbleu-westhampton.com) offers not only bona fide beachfront weddings, but other surfside activities, such as bonfire after-parties. All catering is handled by Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs. Once inside, the ballroom features superior views of the water that cannot be avoided due to 20-foot windows surrounding the space. A soaring ceiling, magnificent chandelier and pillars create a majestic ambiance.

 • Overlooking Three Mile Harbor, East Hampton Point (www.easthamptonpoint.com), a hotel and restaurant, is all about the water. The interior décor features an elegant nautical theme, and get this: there's a full-size mahogany sloop and mast in the restaurant! Of course the cuisine centers on seafood. Like the Montauk Yacht Club and the Westhampton Bath and Tennis Hotel and Marina, this venue can accommodate your guests, making it super convenient for all of your wedding festivities.
