Southampton - There's a big question and a ring and then before you can announce to the world you are getting married you need to get planning. Every organized Bride-to-Be purchases at least a dozen bridal magazines and rents fun old movies to get in the spirit of planning her big day. The very organized and inspired folks at WellWed, one of the leading bridal magazines, hosted their second annual "A Wedding Affair" with the Hamptons top wedding specialists recently at 230 Elm, and word is that The Hamptons is the destination for weddings this season!

Expert wedding and event coordinator Jill Gordon, of Jill Gordon Celebrate, led a seminar on budgeting and coordinating that had many seeing reality through new eyes and considering creative options. Talk moved to food and wine with Kim MacKinnon, of Bedell Cellars, and Michael Vignapiano, of Fresh Flavor Catering, discussing the delicious details of how to really put your flavor on the day. Sometimes, explained Karen Lenahan, of Karen Lenahan Design, it all starts with a single color so it is best to be bold but wise when choosing your color palette.

Bring on the fashion! Wedding Dresser Couture by Vassa, Cotton Bride, and Claire Pettibone bedecked models showed off the trends in bridal style. To finish the look, Katy Smith and Dina Reilly showed off the hair and make-up choices to help brides look their best.

Talking food, nibbles for the event were provided by Tim Burke of 230 Elm, Food For Forks, Four Seasons Catering, NYFF Events, Leanne's Specialty Cakes, Hamptons Popcorn, Oasas Waterfront Restaurant, W Events, and Sacred Sweets who provided a cupcake bar. To toast the occasion LIV Vodka and Korbel Champage were poured as the guests enjoyed the sounds of Funk Factory and The Kende Trio.

A host of participants made for a well planned and enjoyable day, including The Anguilla Tourist Board (www.anguilla-vacation.com, who provided reusable bags which everyone used for their take away gifts and brochures, including those adorable white flip flops which said "Just Married" on the bottom provided by Chris Robbins from Robbins Wolfe; Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club; Party Rental LTD; Saras Gracious Goodies; Matt Murphy Event Lighting; East End Limousine; Twist Fresh Events; The Inn at Quogue; Sugar Sugar; Kim Jon Designs-Florals; The Westport Favor Company; Azuca Patisserie; Hamptons Wedding & Events, East Hampton; Gurney's Inn; Norsic; and Sperry Tents.
