Westhampton Beach - On Friday, August 20 and Saturday, August 21, 2011
Cynthia Rose held a special fashion trunk show event at
Jimmy's in Westhampton Beach. Rose a fashion veteran who after many years of working on the other side decided that her love of vintage and the unusual warranted giving designing a try and started her own company. Rose started out with scarves, shawls and wraps. She had left over materials from a shawl and decided to make the ultimate coat, which then led to a blouse and five years after she started her company she debuted a full collection of clothing.

Rose who sells exclusively in the Hamptons to Jimmy's designs limited edition and one of kind items for people who want to stand out. She uses vintage, couture fabric and beading. She sells only to specialty stores and her clientele is select, normally women who have many homes, who want to stand out in the crowd and are secure in their fashion. Rose believes that fashion is not an age, it is an attitude.
When talking about Rose's collection
Dominick Lepore, owner of Jimmy's stated, "People collect her designs because they can't find anything like it. Her collection is like a work of art and timeless. Each season people add to their collection."
Her fall 2011 collection focuses on the color scheme of navy, teal and a hint of gold. All beading is done by hand and each piece can be used in a multiple of ways. She uses fur in expected ways, stating, "Fur is fashion." She uses lighter fur so her items can be used during all seasons and all over the country. Rose loves to mix unexpected materials such as fur and boucle, and menswear fabric such as tweed with a sexy feminine material such as lace to make feminine clothing with edge.
Her design process starts with a feeling, she then creates a collage and collects fabrics at the beginning of each season. Fabric inspires Rose what shape she should create out of it. One of her main signatures is her one of a kind hand-dyed vintage sweaters with hand beading.
Recently, Rose added jewelry to her collection featuring vintage charms and elaborate earrings. Her holiday collection will include fur throws and pillows.
Rose wants to make women beautiful and believes that the fashion industry nurtures customers to make them look fashionable and unique. For her it is not about selling her designs, it is about keeping the customer happy.
