Kim Bassinger, to name just a few. After learning the qualities and traditions of Scottish cashmere as a young adult, Fischer began to experiment with a new approach to all things cashmere, re-inventing basic knitwear with stylish details. Today, he designs cashmere for a modern lifestyle that reflects effortless casual elegance with sweaters that highlight fit, comfort and contemporary design.
Christopher Fischer will preview his Women's Fall/Winter 2011 Collection at the 2011 Coterie tradeshow in New York City, from February 20 to February 22. The Fall 2011 collection is all about relaxed and cocooning shapes, which are rich in both texture and color and inspired by classic Scottish tweed and marled yarns. These have been reinvented in pure cashmere and revitalized in modern and contemporary shapes that are very wearable and totally Luxe.
Fischer, an award-winning fashion designer, has been a key figure in the cashmere industry for almost 30 years. As an Englishman in New York, he has his design roots in quirky British design, but this is now supplemented with inspiration from local and global fashion trends he experiences on his frequent global travels to China, Japan, and Europe, which are balanced with a luxury Hamptons' lifestyle where he resides whenever he can. His designs are available in leading specialty and department stores - such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Henri Bendel, Fred Segal and Louis Boston - as well as his own boutiques in New York City, Southampton, East Hampton and Greenwich, CT.
The Coterie is a press and trade show event that features local and international, renowned and up-and-coming ready-to-wear and accessory collections.
