Southampton - On Friday, June 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., bargain-savvy fashionistas will be treated to the Second annual St. John's Fair Fashion Preview and Show at St. John's Church, 100 South Main Street, Southampton. For 50 years, the St. John's Fair has been a magnet for those wanting to scoop up great buys on everything from fashion to furniture - all priced at a fraction of the original value. According to fashion show organizer
Rose Dios, 100 percent of fair proceeds benefit recognized local community charities and international charitable organizations selected by the vestry.
The Fashion Preview and Show is open to the public. No reservations are necessary.
"Over the years, we noticed stylish women - and men - coming to the fair early to pick through the racks for the best finds," Dios said. "Last year, we got the idea to pull out the best stuff ahead of time and organize it into a fashion show. It was so much fun, we decided that it will be an annual event."
This year's show, coordinated by fashion consultant and former top model
Bonnie Lowe, will showcase many of the gently-used designer and vintage garments and accessories for both men and women that are donated to the fair each year. Clothing will be available for purchase at the event.
Light refreshments will be served.
