- Lauren Gabrielson
, Assistant Designer to Ginny Hilfiger
, is opening a new boutique, LaurenG shop, for the 2010 Summer in Sag Harbor, on June 5. The LaurenG shop is a "Pop Up," style boutique, exclusively carrying Ginny H by Ginny Hilfiger, along with the launch of her collection, "Lauren Gabrielson," for Resort 2010.
Gabrielson is a 22 year-old designer, ready to make her mark in the fashion industry. Studying under Hilfiger for over a year with her collection, Ginny H, Gabrielson has learned how a small fashion line is run. Hilfiger said to Gabrielson one day, "This is your world, follow your dreams or someone else will do it instead of you."
With the debut of the designer's new store at 112 Hampton Street (Route 114) in Sag Harbor, she hopes to do just that. The boutique will be a concept combination of fashion, art, and antiques. There will be monthly openings of new artists, which will coincide with new fashion pieces. Clothing carried in the store will be composed of the Classic Ginny H, Manu Cashmere, Wm. J. Mills totes, Bikini thief, and her own private label, "Lauren Gabrielson."
Gabrielson's trademark style has an influence of vintage lingerie.
Gabrielson's trademark style has an influence of vintage lingerie, mixing femininity with soft silky colors. She refers to it as, "lingerie during the day." Gabrielson's 2010 Spring/Summer Collections continue this signature style of silk camisole dresses and crinkly chiffon baby doll dresses.
One special feature of the boutique is that all of the Ginny H and Lauren Gabrielson clothing is made in Manhattan, allowing Gabrielson to take custom orders on many items. Customers have the ability to create their own look, by choosing their own colors in many of the silk tunics and dresses, making their pieces special and one of a kind. No one is going to show up wearing the same dress at an event!
There will be a Grand Opening reception, open to the public, at LaurenG, on Saturday, June 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at 112 Hampton Street (corner of Route 114 and Jermain Avenue) in Sag Harbor in Sag Harbor, to introduce her summer fashion line and a major artist, with live music, in the garden.
