Southampton -The 69th Annual Golden Globes, held in Los Angeles, and hosted for the third year by Ricky Gervais, were broadcast this past Sunday, and here at Hamptons.com we have rounded up the scoops on fashion, jewels, hair and even smiles! The Golden Globes are seen by many as the official start to the awards season culminating in the Oscars.

Those Dresses
Among some of the fashions spotted at the Golden Globes, Madonna, Diane Lane and Julie Bowen wore Reem Acra. Lane wore a gold sequin embroidered tulle v-neck cap sleeve gown from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection, and Bowen wore a dusty pink tulle twist gown with crystal cap sleeve from the Resort 2012 collection.

Elie Saab dressed Jessica Biel and Emily Blunt. Biel wore a lace white long sleeve gown from the Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Haute Couture Collection, and Blunt wore a yellow embellished gown from the Spring 2012 Ready to Wear Collection.

Mireille Enos walked the red carpet, and paired her yellow Naeem Khan gown with Alexandre Birman silver metallic shoes in satin. Birman's high-fashion women's collection has been picked up by some of the world's most prestigious retailers, and Hollywood celebrities including Kate Hudson, Demi Moore, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Anne Hathaway, Anna Paquin, Jessica Alba, Leighton Meester, Diane Kruger, among countless others are all fans.

Those Tresses
Wella Professionals stylists were busy creating the top stars' hair looks for the Golden Globes, including Madonna, Michelle Williams, Claire Danes, Shailene Woodley

 • Michelle Williams was styled by Chris McMillan, who says Michelle looks incredible with this short, modern Mia Farrow inspired style. It's a retro '60s combined with Flapper flair type of look that shows there's still a lot of glamour and versatility with short hair."

 • First, apply Wella Professionals Natural Volume Styling Mousse to wet hair and then shape hair with hands to air dry naturally in the direction of the style.

 • Once dry, use hands and a hair dryer directed at the roots to give extra lift at the crown and body throughout.

 • Then apply Wella Professional's Mirror Polish because the shine serum adds a polished finish while smoothing hair into a shape.

 • Adding a simple black headband with jeweled brooch gives a modern spin to this retro look.

 • Push bangs over to the side where the jewel is positioned for a heavy fringe effect.

 • Spray Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray to smooth hair down and give hold throughout the night.

 • Busy Phillips was also styled by McMillan, who explained "What I love about Wella stylers is that they are light and there's no product build-up so the hair still has a natural look and won't get weighed down throughout the night." Chris explains:

 • Prep wet hair with Wella Professionals Natural Volume Styling Mousse and loosely dry for a textured finish.

 • Spray Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray while hair is nearly dry so it's slightly piecy and pull into a imperfect, textured French twist.

 • Add a headband at the top of the head to complete the look for an added touch of elegance.

 • Madonna: Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist Andy LeCompte styled Madonna. According to Andy, "Madonna wanted easy natural texture hair." "To start, I rough dried her hair manipulating and emphasizing her natural texture. Next I applied a mist of Wella's Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray to protect the hair from thermal heat as well as give the hair a slight bit of texture. I spray this before I use my FHI platform one-inch flat iron to make soft S formations, giving the hair a natural wave texture. Then finish with a mist of Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray. One of Andy's fave product, he says "I love Wella's Ocean Spritz to break up the texture."

 • Claire Danes: Styled by Peter Butler (Artists by Timothy Priano) for Wella Professionals. Her chic, modernly messy bun complimented her J. Mendel dress; a frock with a neckline that is very geometric with hard lines requires soft hair. Butler mentioned that he was envisioning a modern Grace Kelly. To create this look, Butler blew out Claire's hair with Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mousse. Once completely dry, he curled her hair with a large barrel curling iron for extra volume. Pull the hair back into a high pony and wrap the hair in a tight knot. This look was only secured with two hair pins! Lastly, he combed back Claire's hair with his fingers, coated with Wella Professionals Mirror Polish Shine Serum for a soft sheen and a quick spritz of Wella Professionals Stay Essential hairspray for a hold that will last all night.

 • Shailene Woodley: Styled by Campbell McAuley for Wella Professionals. Campbell says he created "red carpet naturally enchanting" for Shailene.

Here's how you can recreate her style at home:

 • First, prep wet hair using Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier and then let dry naturally with a diffuser. Campbell says "I love this product because it makes the hair look healthy and shiny and gives great volume.

 • Once nearly dry, lightly mist hair with Wella Professionals Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray before using a 1 ¾ curling iron to enhance natural waves.

 • Once hair is prepped, then take a section from crown to ears to divide hair into a front and back split section.

 • At the back section, pull hair back into a ponytail, not pulling it too tight so that there is still a natural hair movement.

 • Spray Wella Professionals Shimmer Delight Shine Spray in the front section to give the best glossy finish for the red carpet. Then, sculpt hair into a side parted wavy style with hands moving into a beautiful twisted bun. Finish off with Wella Professionals Stay Essential Hairspray.

"Fashion Police" correspondent Kelly Osbourne provided pre-show style commentary and rocked a new hue that complemented her blue Zac Posen dress. The mane man responsible for her new freshly dyed gray-violet locks, stylist Judd Minter for Aim Artists using Sebastian Professional, described Kelly's look as "glamorous; upswept hair that brings classic beauty with an edge," just like the stylista herself.

To style this fresh, unfussy look that still makes a statement, Judd recommends these step-by-step tips:

 • Apply a dollop of Sebastian Professional Thickefy Foam from roots to ends with fingers and brush through.

 • Sectioning the hair use a large round brush to blow-dry hair smooth with added in volume.

 • With a boar bristle brush, brush hair back into a tight, smooth ponytail right below the occipital bone.

 • Apply a bit of Sebastian Professional Cellophanes, in violet, for unexpected pops of color and twist the length of the hair around to make a nice, sophisticated bun.

 • Bobby pin the bun in to place. Take some small hair pins and "fish hook" one side of the pin. The hook will anchor the pins so they never slide out. Then, with one hand, lightly push your bun against the head and flatly place the bent hooks on your bun attaching it seamlessly for a structured look.

 • Finish the look with Sebastian Professional Shaper Zero Gravity hairspray to hold everything in place for a long, fun night of fashion and glamour

Those Gents
Men seem to take a fashion back seat at award broadcasts, but at this year's 69th Golden Globe Awards, Brooks Brothers, the iconic American brand was seen on the red carpet at one of the entertainment industry's biggest events.

Ty Burrell; star of the Golden Globe nominated television series in a comedy or musical category, "Modern Family," wore head-to-toe Brooks Brothers including a white Fitzgerald dinner jacket, 1818 Tuxedo Trousers and Formal Patent Lace-Up shoes.

Golden Globe nominee Paul Giamatti for his performance as Ben Bernake in "Too Big to Fail," also wore head-to-toe Brooks Brothers, including a the 1818 one-button "Fitzgerald" tuxedo. For more information go to www.brooksbrothers.com.

Those Jewels
Jessica Biel and Natalie Portman radiated glamour in Tiffany & Co. jewelry and accessories at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards. For more information go to www.tiffany.com.

Those Smiles
With awards season fully underway, NYC based Cosmetic Dentists Dr. Jeff Golub-Evans and Dr. Emanuel Layliev, who treat several A-listers such as Kim Cattrall, Hugh Jackman, Tom Brady, Usher and Bridget Moynahan, offer some pearls of wisdom on how to achieve a red carpet smile and flawless photos.

 • "If you're wearing a light colored gown or suit, your teeth will look darker in contrast" so it pays to brighten them before walking down the red carpet, whether it's at home or in office. "You'll probably see those photos published everywhere after the event, so you'll want a white sparkly smile," says Dr. Golub-Evans.

 • "We tell our female patients that if they need a "quick fix" a blue based red lipstick or high shine gloss will always help teeth look a few shades whiter," explains Dr. Golub-Evans. "I also recommend wearing a pair of earrings that sparkle, and avoid gold jewelry around the face because it can actually exaggerate yellowish tones," adds Dr. Layliev.

 • "Practice smiling in the mirror with your teeth slightly parted (one pinky finger breadth), as if you are really excited. You'll show more white teeth, because the lower teeth won't be hiding behind the uppers, and the smile won't look forced," explains Dr. Layliev. "And right before your photo, wet your teeth by running your tongue over them for a natural shine." For more information go to www.nyccd.com.

The evening revealed newcomers and seasoned veterans in all their finery as they arrived to walk the red carpet - and to hopefully leave with a very desirous new accesssory - the Golden Globe!
