New York City - Bottomless Closet NYC, a local non-profit that helps disadvantaged women re-enter the workforce, is always busy lending a helping hand. But sometimes, they need a little help themselves! Since moving into their office space in 2008, they have seen 5,000 clients in a 4,000 square foot space that was only designed to accommodate 50 percent of their daily client volume. To help them continue to help others, Bottomless Closet received a transformation from NBC's "George to the Rescue," updating, organizing and maximizing the use of their space.
Bottomless Closet is so thankful for all of the clothing donations they receive, all they needed was a better way to organize them! The closet that holds all of the donated shoes, jewelry and apparel that help outfit clients in business attire, got a much needed makeover from "George to the Rescue." Not only are shoes, belts and handbags, now neatly stored, the revamped space has additional dressing rooms, allowing them to accommodate more clients at once.
March is National Clean Out Your Drawers Month, inspiring a kick start to spring cleaning (and the ability to ignite good karma!). That shirt collecting dust in the back of your closet, or those pants that you've shed too many pounds for, are the perfect place to start. And, while you're cleaning out your drawers, you can cross "accomplish a good deed" off your list too by donating the clothes to a non-profit such as Bottomless Closet NYC. Take it from
Bethenny Frankel who told Life & Style, "You keep things in your closet that you don't need. Give them away to someone who can wear them."
