Southampton - I am so happy to be back on Hamptons.com this summer! It has been a very busy winter for us and I will try to catch you up to date but keep it brief! We finished filming season two last November. During the winter we took a family cruise on Royal Caribbean with the Zarin side of my family then we went to Florida and Aruba over Christmas/New Year's. Allyson spent the winter studying and preparing for her SAT's that she took last Saturday. Last week I took Allyson and two of her friends to Albany on "lobby" day. Senator Craig Johnson organized a full day meeting Senators and Congressperson's to lobby Senator Liz Krueger's Styrofoam Bill. The bill promoted eliminating styrofoam in all public schools. For those who don't know, it takes 500 years to degrade and we throw away 20,000,000 pieces in the landfills per year. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to support the effort and Ally's group got two Senators to sponsor the bill. This was quite an achievement for one afternoon in addition to bumping into Governor Paterson in the Lobby!

The finale aired last week with over two million viewers at 10 p.m. and over three million viewers during the evening. We are all very proud of Season two and hope you all enjoyed the show. This week the reunion two-part episode is airing. It is filled with drama and tears and answers lots of questions the viewers have been writing in to Bravo all season.
Andy Cohen hosts the panel and as usual, makes us all reveal our deepest darkest secrets!
Thank you for sending me your questions and I can't wait to get to the Hamptons for a fun filled summer. If you see us...say hi!
Questions For Jill
Love the animal print wall to wall, love the show and have lots of questions...Andrea, Southampton
How did the Housewives series get started, is it scripted as the cameras follow you around, do you get paid to do it?
The show was originally named "Manhattan Moms" and I was the first housewife to sign on. I introduced Bravo to Countess Luann and Bethenny. Ramona and I knew each other and Alex and Simon filled out a craigslist application for another show being cast about parenting. It is not scripted. It is a docu-drama. We do get paid.
Was the red and black off the shoulder dress you wore to the Arthritis fundraiser a Zang Toi - do you pay wholesale or retail?
The dress was a Zang Toi Gown. Zang was so generous that he donated it to me to auction off on charitybuzz.com.
How did you meet Bobby? How long have you been married?
Bobby and I have been married for eight years. We met through friends and he has three children. His oldest son David, is married to a girl named Jill (Zarin). Ha! We have a beautiful grandson, Micah Zarin, who turns one this month. Calls me GeGe.
How is business these days at Zarin Furniture and Fabrics?
I have to say business is tough. Like everyone else in retail we have to get leaner and meaner to survive. The show has brought us visibility but has not converted to sales as much as we need it to. If anyone needs drapery or upholstery fabric, furniture or decorating services please contact info@zarinfabrics. We are the largest discount drapery and upholstery warehouse in New York.
What is the best seller?
People are always drawn to the antique velvets. It is hard to say what the best sellers are since taste is so personal and one big job can influence sales so much. We do have a new line of Zarin Eco-Friendly fabrics and being Green is definitely in.
