Apr 7, 2012 7:55 pm
Gorgeous blue ocean. Saw 2 people with a dog
then 2 more going down to look at the water.
Seagulls were flying over - lovely sight. I
wonder what the temperature is there today?
Looks chilly-folks wearing jackets.

Apr 5, 2012 1:08 pm
Those are tire tracks from a 4WD vehicle, not paint:) Many
people drive on the beach.
Apr 5, 2012 11:33 am
Did somebody paint
those two lines on
the beach? Why would
they do that?
Apr 5, 2012 10:10 am
Wow, something hinky is going on with the "live"
feed. First the video was in fast motion (the
clock was spinning ahead), and then it slowed
waaay down. It appears almost normal now.
Apr 4, 2012 6:33 pm
See you there coopsbeachguard1:) We are ready:)

Bonnie - why is it
Mar 28, 2012 3:46 pm
Wow even without the ribbon ~ the sand blowing
into the ocean is a really amazing indicator
of today's winds. I love these cams and being
able to see my old hometown in realtime.
Mar 26, 2012 7:41 pm
Yep bchbum, it's the rain we had last weekend.
Getting another downpour today, Sunday, so here
it comes. I think maybe the first week in
October for Picnic...we can wait till first of
September to decide. Chloe, I have two cats,
Molly and Sage. Molly is the calico. Sage is
too, but only on the ears and tail. Last year,
I visited after the hurricane, first of
October, and it was beautiful....we will play
it by ear. Lookin' forward to it. Stay dry
everyone....more on the way.
Mar 25, 2012 8:36 pm
Don't forget to
schedule your picnic
hurricanes that will
be hanging around in
Mar 25, 2012 4:01 pm
bmn, let us know what week/weeks you will be here and we
will pick a day when it gets closer. Will need to check
weather:) We have rain here today so I am guessing it was
yours from last weekend:) 5 beach days out here in March
is def some kind of record!!!
Chloe, most of them are yellow:)
Mar 25, 2012 1:03 pm
How many cats do you
Mar 24, 2012 8:12 pm
You guys pick the
date in September
and I will be there.
It will be such fun
meeting everyone and
enjoying the beach
Hope we have many
folks at this first
annual event! How
fun, as Ina Garten
Mar 23, 2012 3:16 pm
are they all yellow?
Mar 23, 2012 2:27 pm
Chole, Oh how we all wish we could make it go away. It's
ruined many a good beach day:( It is just another weather
condition like rain or snow, we have no control over it.
Payloader is a large bull dozer with a shovel on the back of
BMN, I think we will have a lot more than 3 for the picnic.
There is a group of 6-9 of us who would be there,
depending on the day etc:)
Mar 23, 2012 1:31 pm
can you make it go
away? it makes it
hard to see the
ocean. why does it
have to be here?
what's a payloader?
Mar 23, 2012 12:01 pm
Chloe, fog is formed when the air temp is warmer than the
water. (condensation) It can be pretty thick and moist with
almost zero visiablity. Very common on the eastern end of
LI and near any body of water.
Mar 23, 2012 11:07 am
Three on board for the fall pot-luck picnic at
Cooper's beach. Can't wait! I'm thinking the
end of September. The way time passes, it will
be here in no time at all. Glad it's almost
Friday ....I need it....have a great day in the
Hampton's tomorrow everyone.
Mar 23, 2012 12:52 am
Some people on the beach enjoying this
Thanks bchbum...the sweeper left a circular
pattern on the sand...reminds me of crop
bmn sounds like a good idea to me...a fall
picnic with some vino,cheese,crackers,
Mar 22, 2012 3:31 pm
bmn, that sounds like a great idea!!! I'm in:) I would love to
Kathy, that is the payloader that spreads the sand and
evens it out. Over the winter the sand is moved around a
lot. It collects behind the fence, it blows, the water moves
it so it is bulldozed and leveled so it is easier to walk on.
The other is the beach sweeper. This is a VERY welcome
sight for us beach goers, it means the season is almost
Mar 22, 2012 2:31 pm
what is fog?
Mar 22, 2012 2:15 pm
I think we need to
plan a get together
on that beach this
fall. I am game if
there are any other
takers. Just an
idea. Those who
cannot attend, can
watch by webcam. We
can have a pot-luck
picnic on the beach.
Never know, may be
the start of an
annual event. :)
Mar 22, 2012 1:08 pm
Some machinery on the beach today...what are
Mar 22, 2012 12:59 pm
I long for the beach's embrace
Mar 22, 2012 10:44 am
The winter walks I
took on this beach
were some of the
best hours of my
wildlife and view.
Now the fence is
down. Soon the
security guards will
be patrolling to
keep out the
riff-raff. God I'm
going to miss that

The fence is down,
summer is will soon
Mar 21, 2012 6:31 pm
Why isn't the street camera there any more?
Sure enjoyed it! Is it a privacy intrusion
issue? Love the marina cam, but used to watch
the bay cam too. Least fav is the corner cam,
but it's interesting when snow is falling.
Mar 21, 2012 4:24 pm
That's fog, happens a lot in the spring when the air is warm
and the ocean is cold. It usually burns off around noon, but
Mar 21, 2012 2:58 pm
Why is the view of the beach so cloudy today?
I see people doing something but can't make
Mar 21, 2012 2:51 pm
Life's a beach!
Mar 21, 2012 10:46 am
You are SO right on that one coopsbeachguard1:) They
work their tails off, as does everyone, to make this beach
the best in the country!!!! It isn't easy, there is a lot that
goes on behind the scenes that no one sees. The kids out
in the booth checking stickers and selling day passes also
pitch in with the clean up. It's hot out there and they help
out with everything as well.
We are indeed very fortunate!!
