East Ends First Cash Mob Hits Sag HarborSunday, May 6, 2012 |
Unlike flash mobs, Cash Mobs are not spontaneous or disruptive. Their purpose is to promote and give a boost to a local business. Cash Mobbers assembled at the Windmill in Sag Harbor with their $20 bills in hand and were ready to descend upon a local business. Using social media such as Facebook and Twitter, along with the Press they tried to get the word out to as many people as they could. Once they were all assembled, they proceeded to walk to Tim’s Prime Meats and Seafood Shop on Division Street to spend their cash. It was great to see so many people providing local businesses with a boost and helping the economy at the same time..and what a meaningful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. (Photos: Lisa Tamburini) |
