- William Grant & Sons has won the highly coveted Director's Award at the 2012 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and mixed up a tasty Hendrick's Gin cocktail to commemorate 2012 as a "Leap Year."
Hendrick's was one of 10 spirits in the WGS portfolio to receive a Double Gold Medal (it's third one since 2004, in addition to the slew of gold and silver medals won by the brand at SFWSC over the last eight years).
• 1 1/3 parts Hendrick's Gin
• 3/4 parts fresh Blood Orange juice
• 1/2 part Lillet Rouge
• 1/4 part Creme de Cassis
• 1 slice of English Cucumber
In mixing glass, muddle one slice cucumber, combine remaining ingredients, add ice and shake vigorously. Double strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with blood orange peel and cucumber slice.
