Rum Season Is Knocking At Our Doors

Southampton - With rum season knocking at our doors, here are a few rum cocktails to consider from Brugal Extra Dry Rum for spring cocktailing.
Smooth, dry and delicate Brugal Blanco Especial Extra Dry Rum (SRP $19.99) is unlike other rums in that it is not overtly sweet; it serves as the perfect balance to sweet mixers typically poured with rum. Check out these two tasty libations that are sure to bring a little extra joy to the long-awaited warmer months:
• 1 ½ oz. Brugal Blanco Especial
• 12 fresh mint leaves
• 1/2 lime
• 2 oz. club soda
• 2 tbsp. simple syrup (or 4 tsp. sugar)
Crush mint leaves and squeeze lime in a cool tall glass. Pour simple syrup on top to cover and fill glass with ice. Add Brugal Rum and club soda, and stir your emerging Mojito well. Garnish With a lime wedge and fresh mint leaves.
The Anejo Highball (La Fonda Del Sol, NYC)
• 1.5 oz. Brugal Anejo Rum
• 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
• 1 tbsp. sugar
• 2 dashes of bitters
• 2 oz. orange curacao
• Ginger beer
Combine all of the above in a shaker and pour into a highball glass. Top off with ginger beer.
