Southampton - Knob Creek Bourbon is aged for a full nine years in charred, American, white oak barrels and bottled at an honest 100 proof that strikes the senses with a maple sugar aroma, characteristic sweetness and rich flavor. The extra aging allows it to absorb more of the sugar in the wood, giving it a slightly sweeter taste and nose. Copper to medium amber in color Knob Creek has an aroma of toasted nuts, grain, oak.
The taste is rich, sweet, woody, full-bodied, almost fruity. Knob Creek is named after a little creek that ran by Abraham Lincoln's childhood home. Created by
Booker Noe, grandson of
James Beam and sixth generation Master Distiller, Booker wanted to create a collection of Super-Premium bourbons with distinctive tastes pre-
prohibition style - bursting with flavor and made in small batches with patience and care.
Like the bourbon itself, the Knob Creek bottle spares no detail. Resembling a bootlegger's flask, the handmade look and feel of the bottle dates back to the old custom of wrapping bottles in newspaper at the distillery. On the label you can read everything you need to know about the bourbon including its proof, age statement, and distilling information. The suggested manufacturers retail price is $29.99 to $31.99 for a 750ml bottle.
