'Boardwalk Empire' Inspired Cocktails From Canadian Club

Southampton - Candian Club has mixed up some "Boardwalk Empire" inspired cocktails to enjoy while watching the popular HBO series.

The Real McCoy

 • 1.50 parts Canadian Club 6 Year Old
 • 4 parts Club Soda

Add ingredients over ice in a rocks glass. Stir.

Belle Femme

 • 1.50 parts Canadian Club 6 Year Old
 • 1.50 parts Dubonnet Rouge
 • Orange peel for garnish

In a mixing glass, stir with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a sliver of orange peel.

The Boss

 • 1 part Harvey's Bristol Cream
 • 2 parts Canadian Club 6 Year Old
 • 2 dashes Orange Bitters
 • Maraschino cherry for garnish

Shake Harvey's Bristol Cream, Canadian Club and bitters with ice. Strain over fresh ice into a lowball glass. Garnish with maraschino cherry.

Additionally, Canadian Club is offering a limited edition "Boardwalk Empire" bottle that in celebration of its starring role in the TV series. The bottle, which comes with a bonus "Boardwalk Empire" branded flask, is available in liquor stores nationwide while supplies last (only 100,000 were released), and its suggested retail price is $13.99.

 • Canadian Club Distillery: Located just over the Detroit, Michigan border in Windsor, Canada, was legally able to continue producing whisky between 1920 and 1933, when the manufacture and sale of beverage alcohol was prohibited in the United States.

 • Al Capone: It is rumored that CC was a favorite of Al Capone, who operated a lucrative business smuggling the spirit into the U.S.

 • Illicit Cargo: 20,000 cases of Canadian Club were smuggled into the U.S. each month during Prohibition.

 • Big Profits: Canadian Club has records of selling cases of whisky for $7 to customers who would then travel four hours south by car from the CC distillery and sell the same cases for $75 within the U.S.
