Popular Farmers Market Will Run Through October

The Hayground Farmers Market Will Operate On The BHHS Grounds

Bridgehampton - The Bridgehampton Historical Society proudly announces that The Hayground Farmers Market will operate on the BHHS grounds at 2368 Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton through Friday, October 30 from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The market and market parking will be set up along the Corwith Avenue side of the property.

The market rapidly grew from a few farmers this first summer of operation, to a regular line-up of over 15 farmers, producers and wineries. Its following has also grown - many locals and weekenders alike now make the Friday afternoon market a weekly stop for "the good stuff." Local farmers include the Ludlows and the Falkowskis, among others.

This collaboration is very much in keeping with the Bridgehampton Historical Society's mission to preserve and celebrate local agricultural traditions. The market site will be on the historic Corwith Homestead and adjacent to an active potato field.

BHHS Executive Director Dr. John Eilertsen had this to say, "We couldn't be more pleased to host this market. It provides a lifeline to our local farmers and a direct line to our long farming heritage here in Bridgehampton. Bridgehampton has long been the bread basket of the South Fork."
