Mambo Mixers

Mambo Mixers recreates some of the best loved Latin recipes and brings them to your home. With each vivid image you can almost taste the exotic flavors of the Yuca Fries and Empanaditas de Carne or feel light-headed at the thought of the Watermelon Margarita or Pisco Martini. No planner necessary - this book effortlessly creates a party with each turn of the page.

This collection includes 50 sinfully delicious cocktails and 20 sumptuous easy to make tapas. The inexperienced chef will adore this book for its straight forward approach and simplicity. Your guests will be amazed as you recreate the Mojito or Frozen Papaya-Run Cocktail - each picture is worth a thousand words without the backseat chef/bartender telling you that your presentation isn't quite right.

The amazing menu of cocktails is tantalizing and suggests the following pairings:

Champagne Drinks - Argentine-Style Bellinis, Mango Champagne Cocktails, Pineapple Champagne Cocktails, and Passion-Fruit Cocktails served with Empanaditas de Carne or Crisp Toasts with Chimichurri.

Classics & Variations - Pisco Sours, Peruvian Screwdrivers, Caiprinhas in both Pineapple and Kiwi, Classic Cuban Daquiris (Mango and Strawberry too), Pina Coladas, Cuba Libres, Margaritas, and Mojitos served with Peruvian Skewered Beef, Brazilian Cheese Puffs, Cilantro-Potato Pancakes, and Mango-Cilantro Salsa.

Pisco Martini and Scallop Tiradito

Martini-Like Cocktails - Pisco Martinis, Sol y Sombras, Passion Fruit Cocktails, and Columbian Aguardiente Sours served with Scallop Tiraditos.

Mixed Drinks and Coolers - Gin Fizzes, Sangritas, Bloody Marias, and Mexican Beer Coolers served with Pepitas and Guacamole with Grapes and Nuts.

Sangrias, Punches, & Fruit Filled Cocktails - Passion Fruit Sangria, Chilean Strawberry Pisco Punch, Sakerinah, Brazilian Mango-Coconut Punch all served with Toasted Butternut Squash Salad.

Coffee & Dessert Drinks - Brazilian Coffee Cocktails, Cafe Mexicano, Cafe de Cuba, Peruvian Winter Wines, and Cola de Mono.

Arlen Gargagliano, co-writer of three Latin style and entertaining books and New Rochelle, NY resident, takes you on a 120 page tour of Latin America flavors with Mambo Mixers. These enticing cocktail and tapas recipes come to life through the photograpy of Dasha Wright, a food and travel photographer based in New York City.

Mambo Mixers is published by Stewart, Tabori & Chang, a subsidiary of La Martiniere Groupe, and is available May 1, 2005.
