East Hampton - After a very successful fourth season, the East Hampton Farmers' Market will launch its fifth season on Friday, May 28 at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. A farm stand in the heart of East Hampton, the farmers' market provides residents with a source of fresh produce, mushrooms, honey, sweets, cheese, baked goods, bread, flowers, fruit, pickles, seafood, chef's knives and a sharpening service. Supporting the farmers' market is supporting the local farmers, fishers, food producers and celebrating the agricultural history of the East End.
The market is held in the Nick and Toni's parking lot at 136 North Main Street in East Hampton and will run - rain or shine - every Friday from May 28 through October 1.
The East Hampton Farmers' Market features 22 East End farmers, fishers, food growers and producers selling a wide range of products.
The market was started in June 2006 and is the inspiration of Nick and Toni's head chef Joe Realmuto, long a devoted supporter of locally grown organic produce. Nick and Toni's is truly the "slow food restaurant" with menu items prepared from produce and herbs grown in the garden at the kitchen door.
The Farmers' Market community is growing. We encourage support of the many throughout Long Island including here on the East End, Westhampton Beach, Sag Harbor, Hayground School, Montauk Village, Southampton Village and Amagansett.
