75 Main - A Creative Classic

Southampton - 75 Main is a fun and casual bar and restaurant right on Main Street owned by Tim Burke, that keeps the crowds coming year-round when many other establishments begin to close up for the winter. It's a fantastic spot for after-work drinks, a pre-theater dinner, and late night live music and dancing on the weekends.

The décor is cozy, with lovely yellows and creams on the walls and plush banquettes creating a warm feel. It's also affordable, relaxed, and has a friendly vibe with a combination of families and couples at various ages and stages among the regular clientele.

The live music begins at 9 p.m. every Friday and Saturday with a set of soft dinner music. The night picks up around 11 p.m. and the dance floor is full with a mix of locals and out of town guests by midnight.

The trio of crème brulee can only be described in one word -
scrumptious.

In addition to the extensive wine list, that's more of a book than a simple list you'd find at most establishments, there's a large brunch, lunch, and dinner menu with something for everyone. You'll find plenty of classics like burgers and pasta, but also creative departures such as the butternut squash lobster bisque, a lovely autumn-inspired version of the classic. The peppercorn seared rare tuna to start was beautifully presented with wasabi cream and a sweet soy glaze.

For entrees, the honey-miso sake glazed salmon was cooked well with a nice sauce, but the accompanying wasabi mashed potatoes stole the show. The grilled sirloin filet wrapped in applewood bacon and roast garlic mash was a delight.

But best of all was dessert. The baked apple crisp was a perfect warmer for the cool fall night and the trio of crème brulee can only be described in one word - scrumptious.

Kim Knotoff from Southampton New York says:
My friends and I had dinner at 75 Main last Friday night. It was a blast. The food was very nice, and the atmosphere was was warm and enticing. And I can't complain about the service either. Erin was our server and she couldn't have done a better job. Thanks Erin! I'll be back the next time I pass through town. :)
