With summer beginning to wind down, and only a few weeks left to take advantage of seasonal Hamptons cuisine, The Backyard Restaurant at Sole East Resort is one East End restaurant you should add to your list of places to dine at. This year, Executive Chef Adam Pitré took over the kitchen at The Backyard Restaurant.
“Working here at Sole East is a chefs paradise,” noted Pitré. Taking the helm at Sole early in June, Pitré always knew the hospitality industry was for him. The self-taught chef grew up watching his grandparents cook using ingredients from their own garden, and even after 20 years in the business this is still something he remains passionate about. “We utilize all of the local resources from the super fresh seafood from our fishing fleets out of Montauk to the harvest of produce on the North Fork. Our menu varies from day to day depending on what selections we choose.”
The menu at The Backyard showcases market fresh cuisine. “The importance of how food is prepared is very simple – we cook with a few fresh ingredients so the flavors of the dishes are not masked by other things.” Seafood lovers will enjoy the shellfish centric set of choices, like Montauk Striped Bass accompanied with corn on the cob, Mussels with sinfully tasty French fries, and Tuna Tartar. For dessert, we recommend the melt in your mouth molten chocolate cake topped with ice cream.
Solé East is located at 90 Second House Road in Montauk. For reservations, call 631-668-9739 or visit www.soleeast.com.
