Book Signing And Cheese Tasting At Lucy's Whey

East Hampton - Author and Cheesemaker Angela Miller Miller of Consider Bardwell Farm will conduct a book signing of the author's "Hay Fever, How Chasing a Dream on a Vermont Farm Changed My Life" and cheese tasting of Consider Bardwell Farm's cheeses.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on on Saturday, June 12, at Lucy's Whey Cheese Shop, 80 North Main Street, East Hampton, (631-324-4428)

Miller is the owner of Consider Bardwell Farm in West Pawlett, VT and will visit Lucy's Whey Cheese Shop in East Hampton to discuss her book - the compelling, funny story of a prominent professional's life-changing journey from Manhattan big cheese to Vermont goat cheesemaker, and to share some tastes of her fabulous cheeses.

Consider Bardwell's cheeses have won numerous awards and can be found in some of the country's best restaurants, including Jean Georges, Daniel and The French Laundry, as well as at Lucy's Whey!

In this inspiring, informative, and often funny memoir about changing your life when already more than halfway through it, Miller, a high-powered literary agent in New York, describes the eye-opening challenges and rewards of buying a goat farm in Vermont and making some of America's best cheese - all while maintaining her career in Manhattan.

What started as a part time "project" turned into a full-blown obsession and culinary passion that has changed her and her husband's lives forever. Today, cheeses from Consider Bardwell Farm (Vermont's first cheese making farm) are featured at some of the country's best restaurants.

'Hay Fever' is an inspiring and entertaining memoir that will whet the appetite of food lovers and would-be farmers from coast to coast including recipes from the author and top food personalities like Mark Bittman and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Miller is a prominent literary agent in New York City. After her marriage became strained, her job too stressful, and the social whirl on Shelter Island unsatisfying, she and her husband decided to buy Consider Bardwell Farm in Vermont and become cheesemakers (all while maintaining their New York jobs and lives). What started as a weekend hobby with six "girls" (as she calls her goats) developed into a passion and a culinary and media phenomenon. Miller and her farm have been written up in The Boston Globe, The New York Times, the Daily News, Travel and Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Martha Stewart Living, and many other national publications, and her cheeses are featured on the menus of some of the finest restaurants in the country. They have also won several prestigious awards from the American Cheese Society including Third Place Overall for the aged Rupert cow's milk cheese in 2009 (out of 1,300 cheeses).

Lucy's Whey Cheese Shop is located at 80 North Main Street, East Hampton,
