Nick & Toni's (136 North Main Street, East Hampton, 631-324-3550) in conjunction with Slow Food, Zagat and Welcome Books, will host a Slow Food dinner and book launch on Wednesday, November 18 beginning at 6:30 p.m. A copy of the book, "Slow: Life in a Tuscan Town," will be included with the dinner.
The cost of the dinner is $95 per person. The purpose of this evening is to celebrate the eating of delicious local food, the farmers who grow this food, the chefs who serve this food, and the organizations who help make it available. Although the story is about a town in Italy, it is being published as America considers how delicious it is when the vegetables are just out of the garden, fruit is right off the branch, and fish are straight from the sea. It is also the story of a man who changed the focus of his life as the result of his experience. Still a documentarian, a photographer, and a technology guru, he is also a father, a husband, and a man with a growing devotion to sustainability. Nick & Toni's is now open Wednesday through Sunday starting at 6 p.m. For further information or reservations, call Nick & Toni's at 631-324-3550.
