Southampton - Just because the pace of life here in the Hamptons tends to slow down a bit during the winter months, it doesn't mean that there aren't interesting things happening. One of the best things about this time of year, other than the obvious lack of traffic, are the excellent deals to be had at most of the loyal restaurants that keep the burners fired throughout the year. From prix fixes to happy hour specials, we've rounded up a list of great places serving up Hamptons quality eats at decidedly "un-Hamptons" prices.

The Lodge (31 Race Lane, East Hampton, 631-324-5022, www.thelodgeeasthampton.com) has free mini-burgers and fries at the bar every Wednesday and Friday during happy hour from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. They also offer a fireside Sunday buffet brunch that comes with unlimited Bloody Marys from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. as well as a $25 year-round prix fixe every night until 6:45 p.m.

Townline BBQ (Townline Road, Sagaponack, 631-537-2271, www.townlinebbq.com) is now hosting a new saloon quiz night every Monday starting at 7 p.m. beginning Monday, Feb. 9. Bring your brainiest friends and prove how smart you are! Each team is up to five people and if you don't have a team that's no problem, Townline will create teams for single players. Topics will vary each week, with general trivia and other categories such as pop culture, food trivia, music art, geography, famous people and/or a picture round. There is no cost to play and food and drink specials will be offered all night long. Players are welcome to drop in for a round or two or stay for the entire game to qualify for the grand prize. Prizes will be awarded for wining certain rounds and a grand prize will be awarded to the team with the highest overall score for the night. Prizes include food and beverages, tee-shirts and merchandise or gift certificates to restaurants and local shops.
