Voting for the 2008 campaign is now open through July 10 and winners will be announced on or after July 22.
City's Best establishments are nominated based on insights of the City's Best editorial team and user feedback. Consumers' votes and rankings ultimately determine which venues are chosen #1 in their categories leading up to the announcement of the winners in July 2008. Turtle Crossing Memorial Day Lunch
Turtle Crossing (221 Pantigo Road, East Hampton, 631-324-7166) will be open for lunch on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26 starting at 12 noon. Turtle Crossing is now open Thursday through Monday serving dinner starting at 5 p.m. and lunch Saturday and Sunday starting at 12 noon.
Surf Shack Serves Ice Cream Concoctions, Ultimate Seafood Deals, And Fun Atmosphere
A new restaurant will open at the location of the former 27 Authentic Mexican Kitchen called the Surf Shack (2095 Montauk Highway, Amagansett, 631-267-6980). The Surf Shack is the brainchild of "Bar Czar" Alex Gordon known for his Manhattan hot spots such as Bamboo Bernie's, Bourbon Street, Zoo Bar, Big Al's and A.J. Gordon's Brewing Co. The new Surf Shack, scheduled to launch Memorial Day weekend, promises a laid back, fun, high-energy retreat to enjoy drink concoctions and casual seafood prepared by Executive Chef Paul Nelson of Jeremy Marshall's Aqua Grill. There will be live music on weekends with no cover charge. The Surf Shack will offer 30 flavors of ice cream to help cool you off after a long hot beach day. Children 12 and under eat at no charge from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
Stonewalls Restaurant Presents Spring Prix Fixe Menu
Stonewalls Restaurant (967 Reeves Avenue, Riverhead, 631-506-0777) now offers a spring prix fixe menu. The special is available every night beginning at 5 p.m. except on Tuesdays. Cost of the dinner is $25 per person.
Wine & Cheese Pairing At Corey Creek Vineyards
Corey Creek Vineyards (Main Road, Southold) hosts a wine and cheese pairing the last Saturday of each month. On Saturday, May 31, they will be pairing their award-winning wines with an assortment of artisanal cheeses. The cost is $15 per person and complimentary for wine club members. Reservations are required - RSVP for the pairing on May 31 by Tuesday, May 27.
