Bridgehampton's restaurant scene is about to grow by one, as the owners of Bridgehampton's Almond
, Eric Lemonides
and Jason Weiner
, open up what is sure to be a new hotspot, Zigmund's. Named again for Weiner's wife Almond Zigmund, Zigmund's is taking over the popular 90's bar that previously resided there, Wild Rose.
"The Wild Rose was a great bar with food, drinks, awesome music and even a karaoke night. This is the vibe we are going for at Zigmund's," explained Lemonides. The new spot will have a beautiful farmhouse vibe, with rustic exposed steel beams, floor to ceiling reclaimed wood walls, and comfortable booths with plush throw pillows along the window-lined wall, with bar tables filling the rest of the space.
Behind the large horseshoe shaped bar, there will be TVs as well as a chalkboard full of the most recent cocktail concoctions being offered. "Artisanal, Seasonal & Local" is the Almond tagline and that also applies to Eric and Jason's new spot. Cocktails will be the main attraction here with a menu created by barman Justin August Fairweather. Drinks will incorporate ingredients from the on-site garden located in the front of the restaurant, which will be curated and maintained by Amagansett's Amber Waves Farm.
Zigmund's will offer a "Bespoke" menu featuring housemade shrubs from fresh local fruits, vegetables and herbs. These shrubs can be paired with a spirit of choice, topped off with soda resulting in an epic summer cooler. A small but tasty bar menu will feature Weiner's take on Greek inspired dishes. Selections include: grilled octopus ($11), grilled lamb chops ($7 each), eggplant dip ($10), grilled feta, olives & tomatoes ($10), lentil & garlic spread ($8), spinach & garlic ($8), fried fish with French fries, dill & lemon ($22) and French fries ($6).
But, the exciting cocktails and delicious menu are not all Zigmund's has to offer. Every Monday, the new haunt will have a different theme, starting off with an Industry/Locals Night, sponsored by El Jimador and Jack Daniels, offering $5 well drinks, wine, beer, and snacks, set to a mix of pop tunes and 80's hip hop. Street teams will be handing out bracelets to locals and industry workers for entry on Monday nights, so those looking to attend should keep an eye out!
Additionally, Wednesday nights will be karaoke night for those looking to hit the mic from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m, and Thirsty Thursdays will bring in $20 pitchers and $5 shots alongside bluegrass, blues and jazz. Weekends will kick off with top 40 tunes and late night disco on Fridays, followed by the Saturday Night Special with a disco DJ and Soul Train projected on to the ceiling. The weekend closes out with Reggae Sunday, sponsored by Appleton Rum, featuring $7 tiki drinks and $20 tiki pitchers. In addition to the daily specials, a piano player will be holding court nightly from 5 to 9 p.m., with happy hour running every night from 5 to 7 p.m.
Zigmund's is slated to open Monday, July 25th.
