On Sunday, March 8th, Project MOST is hosting the 7th Annual Empty Bowls Event benefitting their Springs Seedlings Project. From 12 to 3 p.m., the East End community is invited to bring or borrow an empty soup bowl and test out over 28 soups from local chefs at the American Legion Hall in Amagansett. Attendees will also be able to bring soup to go.

"This is both a heart-warming and belly-warming event," noted Susan Gentile Hackett, Director of Development at Project MOST. "The whole community comes out for our kids, culinary and civic leaders, young and old!"

Participating chefs include Kieran Brew of the Amagansett Fire Department, Cheryl from Art Of Eating, Bell & Anchor, Blue Duck Bakery, Dan Mitchelle from The Corner Bar, Debbie Geppert from Dreesen's Catering, Colin Ambrose from Estia's Little Kitchen, Fresh Hamptons, Gretchen Menser from Fresno, Damien O'Donnell from Harbor Grill, Laurie Trujillo-Mamay from Hamptons Foody, Arjun Achuthan from Hayground School, Chris Egert from Indian Wells Tavern, Joe Realmuto and Bryan Futerman from Nick & Toni's, Vicky Sdrougias from Old Stone Market, Bill Hall and Lauren Harrington from One Stop, Nabil Bahi and Kelly McMahon from Pepperoni's, Pete Ambrose Events, Liz Dobbs from the Ross School, Paul LaBue from the Seafood Shop, Jeanine Burge from Silver Spoon Specialties, Juliette and Alison from Simply Sublime, Arthur Wolf from Smokin' Wolf BBQ, Kristy Hood from the Springs General Store, Spiro Dimopoulas from Springs Pizza, Charlotte Sasso from Stuart's Seafood, and Bill Valentine from Valentine Culinary Consultants.

"Springs Seedlings" was inspired by The Edible Schoolyard, a garden created by Alice Waters, Owner of Chez Panisse Restaurant in Berkeley, California. On land allocated by the Springs School District, Project MOST has nurtured the Springs Seedlings Project's greenhouse into a center for teaching, learning, and growing. The popular edible classroom and greenhouse has even sparked other programs like Seedlings' Earthsavers, Health & Wellness, Greenhouse Science Education, STEM Education and the Seedlings I-Grow Summer Program.

Proceeds from the 7th Annual Empty Bowls Event will support the Springs Seedlings Project as well as fund a Nutrition Educator and maintain the existing greenhouse at Springs School and garden boxes at John Marshall Elementary School.

Admission is $12 for adults, $5 for children (13 and under), free for those under 5-years-old or $25 per family.

The American Legion Hall is located at 15 Montauk Highway in Amagansett. For more information, visit www.projectmost.com.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
