Carb lover head to Panera Bread Company during the month of October to support local breast cancer organizations. At bakeries and cafes all across Long Island, the company will kick off their annual month-long Pink Ribbon Bagel fundraiser.
On the first day of the campaign, October 1, “Power of Pink Day,” 100 percent of the purchase price of all Pink Ribbon Bagels sold will be donated. The rest of the month, a portion of the proceeds will be donated towards sustaining local breast cancer support, research and education efforts.
“Our Power of Pink Day provides the perfect excuse to start off the month with a bagel party at work or with friends on the 1st,” said Greg George, Vice President of Operations for the Long Island bakery-cafes
Proceeds from the Pink Ribbon Bagel campaign will benefit The Huntington Breast Cancer Action Coalition, the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline, and Support Program and Cold Spring Harbor Research Laboratory.
Pink Ribbon Bagels are delicious Cherry Vanilla Bagels, sweetened with brown-sugar, and cranberry-cherry chip bagels, shaped into the iconic “pink ribbon” as a symbol of hope to help support local breast cancer programs.
Last year, the Pink Ribbon Bagel campaign raised over $30,000 locally.
