Chill out on the lawn at the Pridwin with some great reggae tunes. Sample delicious wine during a special dinner at The Plaza Café. Get your reggae fix at Michaels' on the Boardwalk. Check out new items on the menu at Della Femina.
Reggae on the Lawn at the Pridwin on Shelter Island
The Pridwin Beach Hotel & Cottages (Crescent Beach, 81 Shore Road Shelter Island, NY 11964 [631] 749-0476 or www.pridwin.com) celebrates summer Sundays with reggae on the lawn through Sunday, September 2 from 2-6 p.m. featuring a super mix by King Crown International. The events – where one may also dock, dance or play frisbee – are open to the public with a full bar offering drink specials, such as $3 Coronas, vegetarian snacks ($8) and a priceless waterfront view of the Long Island Sound. A full lunch menu will be available until 3:30 p.m., including Maryland crab cakes with sauce rémoulade and mesculin ($17), a lobster roll with French fries or mesculin greens ($18), and hamburgers, cheeseburgers and veggie burgers with chipotle mayonnaise and French fries ($9/$10).
Capiaux Vintner Wine Dinner at The Plaza Café
The Plaza Cafe (61 Hill St., Southampton, NY, [631] 283-9323) will be hosting a Capiaux (CA) Vintner Wine Dinner on Sunday, August 12th at 6p.m. The cost of the dinner is $150 per person.
Sunday Reggae at Michaels' at the Boardwalk
Michaels' at the Boardwalk (65 East Main Street, Riverhead, New York 11901 [631] 591-2710) presents live jazz and reggae on the outside deck every Sunday. A jazz brunch is offered from noon to 3 p.m. in addition to a brunch prix fixe for $15.95. Afternoon reggae begins at 4:30 p.m. with a light menu featuring house smoked BBQ ribs, pork and shrimp. Drink specials include voodoo rum buckets and $4 red stripes. There is no cover charge.
Della Femina Adds New Menu Items
Della Femina (99 North Main St., East Hampton, NY [631] 329-6666) has added many new menu items to reflect the local bountry fare. Dinner is served seven night a week beginning at 6 p.m. The new menu items include: Greenport Oysters (raw) on the Half Shell $18, North Fork Wild Arugula & Baby Beet Salad $16, Housemade Fettucine with Little Neck Clams $28, Maine Day Boat Halibut with Baby Shitake Mushrooms $36, and Brant Natural Prime Sirloin Steak, Red Wine Sauce $46.
