Michael Gluckman's The Boathouse, restaurant and lounge. Accented with contemporary wood furnishings and sailor-inspired pieces, the nautical-themed restaurant prides itself for having the best catch in East Hampton. John Denco such as Rock Shrimp Tempura with creamy spicy mayonnaise, Pan Seared Sea Scallops Served with Lemon Orzo and Grilled Asparagus, the Sushi Grade Soy Ginger and Sesame Crusted Tuna with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes and Baby Bok Choy. Do not forget to order their signature Fresh Watermelon Martini made with freshly muddled watermelon, top shelf vodka, lime juice and a dash of sugar, served in a sugar brimmed martini glass with a wedge of watermelon for garnish!
Open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch, The Boathouse has served celebrity clientele such as
Audrina Patridge,
Beyoncé,
Jay-Z,
Jeremy Piven and
Kelly Ripa. The restaurant also offers an array of unique specials during the week, including one dozen clams for $10 and $4 beers Monday and Friday Nights from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday Happy Hour with free food at the bar; Sunday Buffet Brunch for $25 per person (1/2 price for kids) with unlimited Mimosas or Bloody Mary's from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and a $27 Pre Sunset Menu served seven days a week from 5 p.m to 6:30 p.m. Able to cater and host private events and parties of up to 500 plus guests, the East End favorite is the brainchild of Gluckman, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America who earned an Associate's Degree of Science in Culinary Arts, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts Management, who also owned Hamptons staples The Lodge and Bamboo Restaurants; recently, Gluckman opened the beachhouse Restaurant, a new East End restaurant, bar and lounge for the 2011 Summer season.
