Turtle Crossing
Turtle Crossing (221 Pantigo Road, East Hampton, 631-324-7166, www.turtlecrossing.com) presents live music from family band Laughing Pizza on August 26 at 6 p.m. Laughing Pizza is a real family band that makes original music for kids, parents and loved ones alike. Their music videos are seen daily on public television stations by millions across the country, such as Atlanta's PBA 30, Philadelphia's WHYY, Columbus's WOSU and San Diego's KPBS to name a few. Their audience spans many ages, thanks to the radio-friendly pop appeal of their music, hence a broad range of family entertainment! Mom and dad, Lisa and Billy, are award winning songwriters with a #1 Billboard Dance Hit and credits with the Olsen Twins and the Cartoon Network show, Big Bag, as well as having written and produced an entire math CD called "Make it Count" which has been used to support the curriculum in many public school systems including Florida and Texas. They are also both classically trained musicians, having attended Juilliard and Berklee, and are former music teachers. Thirteen year old daughter, Emily, is a multi-instrumentalist who plays flute, drums, guitar and piano. Together they create fun, inspiring (and educational) music for the whole family! Laughing Pizza has appeared on the Today Show and performed at the White House three consecutive years (most recently with Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers).

Bedell Cellars
Bedell Cellar (www.bedellcellars.com), the premiere winery on the North Fork of Long Island, announces that its 2008 Cabernet Franc has won "Best Red Wine" at the 2010 New York Wine & Food Classic, the preeminent New York wine competition. Bedell's Cabernet Franc topped 178 other New York-grown red wines (including 48 other Cabernet Francs) to take home the coveted prize. Bedell produced 195 cases of the Cabernet Franc, which was released to Bedell Wine Club members in May and to the general public in July 2010. The wine has 13.5 percent alcohol and exhibits a nose of lavender and cranberry to complement its juicy mouth feel, firm tannins, and flavors of cherry and fresh herbs. Bedell's CEO Trent Preszler stated, "We are thrilled our Cabernet Franc won this coveted award; it is a fantastic achievement considering how many other fine reds were in the competition. Since we only produced a small quantity of the wine, we will distribute the remaining inventory to our loyal wine club members and select restaurants in the New York metropolitan area. However, we will also make some available to the general public, too, both through our winery tasting room and on our website."
