Olga Papkovitch has been recognized as a rising star in the classical form of painting known as impressionism. She is noted for her use of vibrant colors to create exuberant and hypnotic impressionistic depictions of flowers and natural scenes. Papkovitch’ work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and her artwork is featured in many private and public collections. While growing up in St. Petersburg, Russia, Papkovitch was introduced to a broad spectrum of visual arts ranging from the ancient to the medieval Periods, as well as arts stemming from western European culture. As a teenager, she studied at the acclaimed State Hermitage Museum of Art. While studying at the museum, Papkovitch developed an eclectic approach to mixing colors and objects, stemming from her fascination with the styles of 13th century icons such as Rembrandt, DaVinci, Degas, Matisse and Gauguin, as well as modern geniuses such as Picasso. To these influences, Papkovitch added her own creativity, developing a vibrant and expressive form of modern impressionism. Additional website: www.olgapapkovitchart.tripod.com
