Annual parking stickers can be obtained from beach attendents by residents whose NYS vehicle registration or current property tax bill shows a Riverhead Town address. Non-residents may purchase a daily or annual sticker, hotel/motel parking applications, resident fishing permits, special situation couchers, and more at the Recreation Department at Stozky Park. Beaches are open daily from sunrise until 10 p.m.

  • Iron Pier Beach, Jamesport - At the end of Pier Avenue off of Sound Avenue. Facilities: Lifeguards, boat ramp, and restrooms.

  • Reeves Park Beach, Riverhead - At the end of Park Road, off of Sound Avenue. Facilities: Lifeguards, restrooms, and swimming lessons.

  • South Jamesport Beach, South Jamesport - Off of Peconic Bay Boulevard. Facilities: Lifeguards, playground, bathhouse, outdoor showers, food stand, fishing, tennis courts, picnic area, and basketball court.

  • Wading River Beach, Wading River - Creek Road off of North Wading River Road and Sound Road. Facilities: Lifeguards, swings, and restaurants across the street.

  • To help accommodate non-resident fisherman, daily passes for all parking at Town access points to the water may be obtained at Edwards Sports Center (East Main Street, Riverhead), Fishermen’s Deli (West Main Street, Riverhead), Jamesport Bait and Tackle Center (Route 25, Jamesport), and Warren’s Tackle Center (Route 25, Aquebogue).

  • Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District

    The Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District is bounded on the west side by the Mattituck Park District and on the east side by the hamlet of Peconic, which is not within the park district. The Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District maintains two bay front parks, Fleets Neck Beach and Nassau Point Community Beach. Use of these facilities are free to residents of the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District and their guests.

  • Nassau Point Beach, Nassau Point – On the Causeway. Facilities: beach with swings and slides, sandbox, barbecue grill, picnic tables, park benches, handicap ramp, basketball court, roped off bathing area, bathroom facilities, and lifeguards on duty over the summer months. The Nassau Point Community Beach is a parcel of considerable acreage and beach front on Little Peconic Bay and wetlands areas on the west into Broadwater Cove. The causeway, Nassau Point Road, divides the park and provides easy access. Parallel to the beach and off the causeway is a large parking area. Attendants on duty to issue and check permits.

  • Pequash Avenue Beach (Fleets Neck Beach), Cutchogue – At the end of Pequash Avenue. Facilities: Park and beach with swings, slides, young children's playground equipment park benches, picnic tables, barbecue grills, basketball court, bathroom facilities, handicap ramp that leads to the beach, a roped off swimming area, lifeguard on duty, and attendants at entrance to issue and check permits.

  • Southold Town Beaches

    Take Route 27 East to park entrance on Route 271 (Old Montauk Highway). Open year round, seven days a week, sunrise to sunset.     Meschutt Beach County Park, a still-water, supervised bathing beach is located on Great Peconic Bay, on the East side of the Shinnecock Canal. Limited camping for self-contained trailers and campers is available as well as showers, restrooms, and a food concession. A windsurfing and sailing area is also available. Take Sunrise Highway to Exit 66. At stop sign proceed straight through intersection. Make a right hand turn at storm sign and then take your first left. Park entrance on right. Suffolk County Parks Green Key Card accepted.

    Shelter Island Town Beaches

    Beachgoers must have a beach permit, available at town beaches. Seasonal fee per vehicle - $25 for residents, $15 for seniors over 60, $200 for non-residents. Non-resident daily parking permits $15. Some beaches are restricted to resident permit holders. Access Roads: Trustee Permits required July through Labor Day.

  • Emma Rose Elliston Park, North Sea - Millstone Brook Road, off of North Sea Road. Restrictions: Town residents only. Facilities: Lifeguards, picnic tables, restrooms.

  • Flying Point Beach, Water Mill - Flying Point Road. Restrictions: Only seasonal permit holders, no daily fees available. Facilities: Lifeguards, showers, restrooms, mobile food stand, volleyball courts.

  • Foster Memorial Beach (Long Beach), Noyac - Long Beach Road. Facilities: Lifeguards, showers, benches, food stand, overlook platform, transport beach chair for disabled, restrooms, water ski and sailing areas, sailing and windsurfing lessons.

  • Mecox Beach, Bridgehampton - Jobs Lane. Facilities: Lifeguards, showers, restrooms, sundeck, overlook platform, mobile food stand, and volleyball courts.

  • Pikes Beach, Westhampton Dune - On Dune Road. Facilities: Lifeguard, restrooms, outdoor shower, food concession, large outdoor deck with picnic tables and beach volleyball courts.

  • Ponquogue Beach, Hampton Bays - Dune Road. Facilities: Lifeguards, showers, volleyball courts, food stand, picnic tables, restrooms, transport beach chair for disabled.

  • Sag Main Beach, Sagaponack - Sagg Main Road. Facilities: Lifeguards, showers, restrooms, overlook platform, mobile food stand, transport beach chair for disabled, picnic tables, volleyball courts.

  • Camp Hero State Park

    Camp Hero State Park encompasses 415 acres of diverse landscape including heavily wooded areas, a long expanse of beachfront along the Atlantic Ocean, and an historic military installation. Specific features of Camp Hero are magnificent pristine maritime forests, freshwater wetlands, spectacular ocean vistas and dramatic bluffs rising from the beach. Take Route 27 East to park entrance on Route 271 (Old Montauk Highway). Facilities include beach, biking, bridle path, fishing, hiking and cross country skiing. Empire Passport accepted.

    Cupsogue Beach County Park

    This 296 acre barrier beach park offers lifeguard-supervised swimming, sunbathing on white sand beaches and some of the finest saltwater bass fishing to be had on the Island. A food concession (www.thebeachhuts.com), restrooms, first aid center, showers and changing rooms are all conveniently situated at Cupsogue's pavillion. Campers and recreational vehicles are permitted along the access road running parallel to the outer beach. Diving is permitted at slack tide on the bay side of the park only. Water depth is approximately 12'. From the Village of Westhampton Beach go South of Jesup Lane and cross the bridge. Turn right onto Dune Road. Follow Dune Road to its western terminus in Westhampton Beach. Suffolk County Parks Green Key Card accepted.

    East Hampton Town Beaches

    One town beach, Indian Wells is restricted to East Hampton town residents. Other beaches, including two available day visitors, are open to all with seasonal parking permits. Residents are free, non-residents are $200, hotels and motels offer guests free permits. Permits available weekdays at the town clerks office in East Hampton or at the Montauk annex. Day visitors can go to Atlantic Avenue Beach or to Kirk Park Beach ($10 parking). Parking limited. Permit information, call 631-324-4142.

  • Atlantic Avenue Beach, Amagansett - At the end of Atlantic Avenue off Route 27. Restrictions: Non-residents pay $10 for parking. Facilities: Lifeguards, food stand, surf beach chair, surfing area.

  • Beach Lane, Wainscott - Heading East on Route 27, make right and turn onto Sayres Path. GO one mile then make right on Main Street, then a left on Beach Lane. Restrictions: Seasonal permit holders only.

  • Big Albert’s Landing Beach, Amagansett - At the end of Albert’s Landing Road off of Old Stone Highway. Restrictions: Seasonal permit holders only. Facilities: Lifeguards, picnic area, surf chair, and comfort station.

  • Ditch Plains, Montauk - Off Ditch Plains Road. Restrictions: Seasonal permit holders only. Facilities: Lifeguards, food stand, surf chair, and restrooms.

  • East Lake Drive Beach, Montauk - Off Route 27 at the end of East Lake Drive. Restrictions: Seasonal permit holders only. Facilities: Lifeguards, food stand, and restrooms.

  • Indian Wells Beach, Amagansett - At the end of Indian Wells Highway. Restrictions: Town residents only. Facilities: Lifeguards, food stand, surfing area, and comfort station.

  • Kirk Park Beach, Montauk - Route 27 just west of Montauk Village. Facilities: Lifeguards, picnic area, comfort station.

  • Maidstone Park, East Hampton - At the end of Flaggy Hole Road off of Three Mile Harbor Road and Hog Creek Highway. Restrictions: Seasonal permit holders only. Facilities: Lifeguards, picnic areas, ball field, pavilion restrooms.

  • Orient Beach State Park

    Orient Beach State Park has 45,000 feet of frontage on Gardiner's Bay and a rare maritime forest with red cedar, black-jack oak trees and prickly-pear cactus. A beautiful wood deck lets you overlook Gardiner's Bay. Visitors can swim in the bay, fish, picnic, play ball, go hiking or biking, or walk a nature trail. Pavilions available for private parties with catering available by concessionaire. Take the LIE 496 to the end, then Route 25 to the end. Open all year, seven days a week, sunrise to sunset. Swimming season opens in late June and continues to early September. No pets allowed. Empire Passport accepted.

    Cedar Point County Park

    The 607 acre Cedar Point County park, with commanding views of Gardiner's Bay, offers individual and organized group camping areas. Picnic areas, boat rentals, nature trails, vehicular access to the outer beach (with permit only), licensed hunting for waterfowl (in season), surfcasting for bass and bluefish. The Cedar Point General Store and Snack Bar, operated by Kaelins, offers Saturday night family movies on the lawn behind the store and free use of recreational equipment. Take Montauk Highway East to Stephen Hands Path in East Hampton. Turn North and continue to Northwest Road, bear left and continue to Alemive Road until park entrance.     Flanking the eastern border of the Shinnecock Inlet where it meets the Atlantic Ocean, this rugged, undeveloped barrier beach park includes both ocean and bay beach recreation areas. Shinnecock is a favorite spot for striped bass fishing. Off-road recreational vehicles may drive on the outer (ocean) beach. 100 campsites on the outer beach are available to self-contained campers with a valid Suffolk County Parks Green Key Card. No tent camping is permitted.
