St. Patrick's Day Parades In The Hamptons

St. Patty's Day is right around the corner and the Hamptons are filled with parades to celebrate the holiday whether you are actually Irish or just Irish for the day.

First up is the The Westhampton Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade (www.westhamptonchamber.com) which begins at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013. This years Grand Marshal is Tom Otis, of Quogue, who was selected for his long record of community service to the Westhampton Beach area. The parade will start on Mill Road and Oneck Lane between the schools and travel down Mill Road to Main Street towards the reviewing stand which is located at Main Street and Sunset Avenue next to the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.

Also on Saturday, March 9, 2013, is The 5th Annual Am O' Gansett Parade (www.amagansettchamber.org) which begins at 12:01 p.m. Touted as the shortest St. Patty's Day Parade, make sure you are there on time or chances are you'll miss it. Htun Han will serve as Grand Marshal of the parade which begins at Mary's Marvelous and continues up the long drag to the Mobil Gas Station. An after party will be held at The Stephen Talkhouse starting at 1:02 p.m.

For North Fork folks, The Cutchogue St. Patrick's Day Parade (www.cutchoguefiredept.org) is on Saturday, March 9, 2013, beginning at 2 p.m. The parade will run from the traffic light at Cox Lane, down Route 25, ending in Cutchogue Village.

The 51st Annual Montauk St. Patrick's Day Parade (www.montaukfriendsoferin.org) which is the second largest St. Patrick's Day parade in New York is on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Montauk School Superintendent Jack Perna will serve as parade Grand Marshal. The festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. on the green where the Montauk Chamber of Commerce will be serving hot clam chowder made and donated by local restaurants. The parade begins at 11:30 a.m. starting at Edgemere Road and turning on to Main Street finishing at the end of Main Street by IGA.

The Hampton Bays St. Patrick's Day Parade (www.hamptonbayschamber.com) will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, beginning at 11:00 a.m. It begins at the Hampton Bays Elementary School on Ponquogue Avenue to Montuak Highway, heads west to the reviewing stand and ends in the Hampton Atrium parking lot.

So break out your Kiss Me I'm Irish t-shirt, sip on some Guinness and enjoy the festivities.
