As a Hampton journalist sometimes covering five events a weekend in Manhattan during the Hamptons off-season over the past 20 years, I considered myself the ultimate road warrior. Frankly, with an "ability-to-find-a-free-parking-space" acumen that would astonish, but Mayor Bloomberg I surrender!
His Honor is determined to make Manhattan a car-free zone and between the reduction in street parking space availability, the rules regarding parking hours posted on signs that, frankly, a course should be offered as a theoretical linguistics elective at Columbia University to translate, and fees that make a loan shark's rates seem less than usury, even this Manhattan wheel-man has given up!
Trust me; from the North Fork or the South Fork, the Hampton Jitney is the only way to travel to Manhattan. Saving 31-40% by buying the Value Packs make it an even more obvious no-brainer, but you only have until December 31 to purchase them.
