The Waverly Project Foundation (WPF) is holding its inaugural fundraiser, a Virtual 5K, on Saturday, August 8.
“The Waverly Project Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in June 2020,” Grace Wills, Executive Director, explained. “Our mission is to support girls on their journey toward mental, physical and spiritual well-being.”
WPF 5K participants can get their miles in on a run, walk, or even bike ride at the location of their choosing. Those that want to give the fundraiser a social media shout out are encouraged to use the hashtags: #WaverlyProjectFoundation, #Move4MentalHealth, #WPF5K, #BikeWalk&Talk, #ByWaverlyGirls or #ForWaverlyGirls.
“For our first Virtual 5K Fundraiser this Saturday, August 8, we will be raising support for our Wellness Workshops that will begin fall 2020,” Wills shared. “These workshops will provide girls with tools for self-reflection, building a positive self-image, and pursuing their individual gifts and purpose.” Earlier this summer, The Waverly Project Foundation launched its seven week Waverly Girl Class Camp, where campers focus on design and creative, learning from inspiring female entrepreneurs and partaking in one of a kind D.I.Y. projects.
The Waverly Project Foundation will have a small team taking part in the 5K, starting from Waverly Beach (64 Jobs Lane, Southampton) at 9:00 a.m. So, if you see them around the Village, make sure to cheer them on.
“Our hope is to see happy, healthy, and confident girls, who feel supported by the Waverly community in all seasons of life,” she concluded.
The entry fee is $35 and registered WPF 5K participants will receive a numbered bib via email.
