Town & Country recently announced its Top 15 Beaches on the East Coast picks and two Hamptons spots made the cut.
After Nantucket, Massachusetts and Block Island, Rhode Island, East Hampton earned the third spot on the list.
“Named the best beach in the country in 2013, Main Beach in East Hampton is known for its wide stretch of sand plus a snack bar, bathrooms, and lockers. On-site parking is only available to village residents but there are free beach shuttles available,” Sam Dangremond, the article’s author, reasoned.
Additionally, Southampton came in at 13.
“About 15 miles west of the aforementioned East Hampton, Southampton has more than seven miles of shoreline. Cooper’s Beach, which has a snack bar and offers umbrella and chair rentals, is considered one of the best beaches in the Hamptons,” Dangremond explained. “Make sure to check out some of the extravagant architecture on Meadow Lane on your way there—at least what you can see over the hedges.”
This isn’t the first time the beloved beaches have been honored. Coopers Beach took home the fifth spot on Dr. Beach’s 2017 Top 10 Beaches in the United States list and the eighth spot on the 2016 list, while Main Beach earned the top honor back in 2013 and the third spot in 2012.
For those in need of a trip to the beach, you can do so right now, virtually on Hamptons.com. To view our Main Beach cam, click here. If you prefer Coopers, click here.
