Finding the right health care plan can be overwhelming, which is why the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation is welcoming health insurance enrollment representatives that will offer complimentary aid to those looking for guidance on finding the policy that best suites them.
The “facilitated enrollers” were trained by New York State about enrollment into Affordable Care Act insurance marketplace products like Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and the Essential Plan. They can discuss coverage options, help apply for assistance which could potentially decrease the cost of health coverage, and enroll in a plan.
“Many people think the Affordable Care Act is over, but it is alive and well,” noted Sheila Rogers, Director of the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation.
Representatives will be available in the Suite M conference room at the East Hampton Healthcare Center on Mondays and alternate Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., for UnitedHealthcare and Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., for Affinity Health Plan. Appointments are on a first come, first served basis and there is no fee to speak with a representative.
“This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the available options and to sign up for coverage for the coming year,” added Rogers.
The Affordable Care Act open enrollment period for 2018 health plans ends December 15, 2017.
