The South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center (SoFo) in Bridgehampton is already having another successful holiday season with plenty of celebrations and donations. The not-for-profit nature organization of the East End is, for the second year, donating non-perishable food items and funds that were collected during SoFo's annual Thanksgiving Open House to the Bridgehampton Food Pantry and Sag Harbor Community Food Pantry and spreading even more holiday cheer by donating toys to The Retreat, the East End's only domestic violence agency.

"We are very happy to give back in the spirit of the season to help ensure that our East End families with limited means are able to enjoy the holidays," explained South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center Executive Director Frank Quevedo.

These local food pantries assist low-income residents and homeless in the Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton and Sagaponack area, and The Retreat provides safety, shelter, and support to victims of domestic abuse and family violence. The Retreat's annual Holiday Toy Drive accepts toy donations for its Adopt-A-Family holiday program.

"We are thankful that our friends and museum members have joined us in raising funds and donating toys to the growing number of local families who are in need of food, shelter and holiday gifts for their children," added Quevedo.

SoFo, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 nature organization, is "dedicated to promoting nature education in the museum and in the field through hands on study of the South Fork's native flora, fauna, and ecosystems."

The South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center is located at 377 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton. For more information, call 631-537-9735 or visit sofo.org.
