East End Holiday Season Spectaculars Continue With A Santa Skate, Charming Concerts And More

If your tree has been decked, cookies have been baked for Santa and you've completed your holiday shopping and wrapped every last gift, celebrate the season by attending one of these merry East End happenings.

East Hampton Library (159 Main Street, East Hampton, 631-324-0222, easthamptonlibrary.org) will welcome Billy Baldwin, who will read from his latest book The Cookie That Saved Christmas during Christmas Cookie Story Time on Friday, December 16th at 3:30 p.m. Once the reading is over, attendees can festively decorate their own Yuletide cookie. Registration is required.

Teens that are feeling festive can drop by the Drop in Spot at Hampton Library (2478 Main Street, Bridgehampton, 631-537-0015, hamptonlibrary.org) to get crafty with holiday activities as they make their own holiday garland. The seasonal decoration will be the craft of choice from Friday, December 16th through Friday, December 30th.

Southampton Arts Center (25 Jobs Lane, Southampton, 631-283-0967, southamptonartscenter.org) will welcome Clark Griswold and the rest of the Griswold family on Friday, December 16th at 7 p.m. when SAC presents a screening of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and it happens to be National Ugly Sweater Day, so don't forget to don your best (and by best we mean absolute worst because a prize is at stake).

WLNG is presenting a Rockin' Rockabilly Christmas at Suffolk Theater (118 East Main Street, Riverhead, www.suffolktheater.com) on Friday, December 16th at 8 p.m. The performance will feature Sun Records' last recording artist - Jason D. Williams - who has been compared to one of his teachers, the iconic Jerry Lee Lewis. The evening will also include music by Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks and a special guest appearance by Prentiss McNeill, who will serenade the audience with DooWop versions of Christmas Carols. On Saturday, December 17th, the Suffolk Theater will host Felix Cavaliere's Rascals Holiday Show at 8 p.m.

Southampton Country Holiday's "It's a Wonderful Village" wraps up on Saturday, December 17th with Horse and Buggy Rides from Southampton Arts Center (25 Jobs Lane) from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.southamptonchamber.com.

Quogue Library (Quogue Library, 90 Quogue Street, 631-653-4224, www.quoguelibrary.org) is presenting A Pandafan Christmas with Grace DeNatale and Delaney Hafener - two members of the indie-folk trio - on Saturday, December 17th at 2 p.m. The duo will put their own acoustic spin on holiday classics. On Sunday, December 18th, the Library will present 'Tis the Season with Hampton Theatre Company actor and director Andrew Botsford, a reading of a holiday-themed classic tales, which will be followed by a reception. Registration is required.

Montauk Library (871 Montauk Highway, Montauk, 631-668-3377, www.montauklibrary.org) is holding a Family Gingerbread House workshop on Saturday, December 17th at 2 p.m. Bring your loved ones for holiday season bonding as you build your own gingerbread house, using cookie cutouts, royal icing and plentiful sweets, and once you're done with the collaborative creation, you can bring home your masterpiece to show-off or devour. Registration is required.

The Amagansett Free Library (215 Main Street, Amagansett, 631-267-3810, amaglibrary.org) will welcome actor and filmmaker Christian Scheider on Sunday, December 18th at 1:30 p.m. for the Library's annual reading of Truman Capote's beloved holiday short story, A Christmas Memory.

Warm up those vocals for the Hampton Bays Public Library's (52 Ponquogue Avenue, Hampton Bays, 631-728-6241, hamptonbayslibrary.org) Winter Holiday Sing Along with Long Island pianist and entertainer Stan Wiest on Sunday, December 18th at 2 p.m. The afternoon will include a sing-a-long of popular and old favorite songs and refreshments for all, and if you're a little rusty on the verses, don't worry copies of the lyrics will be provided.

The annual Harbor Bells Christmas Concert at St Andrews RC Church (122 Division Street, Sag Harbor) will take place on Sunday, December 18th at 4 p.m. Stairway to Heaven, a non-Christmas piece, will be featured and attendees are asked to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Food Pantry.
