A child's fascination with "big trucks" often begins when they're a toddler, and for some, continues throughout life. From Legos to Hot Wheels to Little Tikes Toy Trucks to the real deal - entertainment from "big trucks" is endless.

On Saturday, September 17th, curious kids of all ages can learn about and discover a real-life version of their favorite toy truck during the Children's Museum of the East End second annual Big Truck Day. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., an assortment of vehicles "that keep the East End moving" will be on display for attendees to appreciate. This year's happening will once again showcase a cement truck, tow truck, dump truck, and other emergency vehicles, and also bring in a few new additions, like a pay loader, 18-wheeler cab, a pair of food trucks and more.

"After the success of last year's Big Truck Day, making this an annual event was an easy decision," said Steve Long, the Museum's president. "Besides, I'm sure I'm not the only parent with a child who is absolutely wild about trucks."

Children's Museum of the East End is teaming up with 27 Eats, Amber Waves Farm, Blocks Trucks + Art, Landscape Details, Mister Softee, Rapid Recovery, S&P Sanitation, the Southampton Village Police Department, and Suffolk Cement for this year's Big Truck Day.

"This event is going to be a blast! Kids get to learn about the important role big trucks play in our community in an incredibly fun and interactive way," explained the Children's Museum's education coordinator, Liz Bard. "And, with so many area businesses joining us, Big Truck Day is perfectly aligned with our mission to promote learning and build strong connections on the East End by providing playful experiences."

Admission is free for members and $12 for non-members, including adults and any children over 12 months old. Space is limited and CMEE strongly recommends registering for the event in advance.

The Children's Museum of the East End is located at 376 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton. For more information, call 631-537-8250 or visit www.cmee.org.
