The Victor D'Amico Institute of Art, otherwise known as The Art Barge, will be launching its 2016 Artists Speak series on Wednesday, June 22nd with figurative painter Eric Fischl. Moderated by journalist Ellen T. White, the talk will begin at 6 p.m. and will take place at The Art Barge.

Featured artist Eric Fischl is an American born sculptor and painter who is considered to be one of the most influential figurative painters of his time. Widely known for his portrayals of the dark side of American life and culture, his artwork has been featured in museums across the world, such as The Whitney Museum of American Art and the MusŤe Beaubourg in Paris. This year, he joins The Art Barge and the Victor D'Amico Institute of Art to discuss his career as an artist and share his experience as part of their annual Artists Speak series. Fischl was born in New York City and currently resides on the East End.

Throughout the years, The Art Barge has welcomed Christo Alfonso Ossorio, Chuck Close, Dan Flavin, Jack Youngerman, Audrey Flack, Jack Larsen, Joan Semmel, Elliot Erwit, James Rosenquist, Elaine de Kooning, and many more to its Artists Speak, which was established in 1983. The 2016 series will feature Fischl, as well as artists Donald Sultan and Laurie Anderson.

Along with this summer series, the Victor D'Amico Institute of Art - a summer art school for people of all ages - proudly offers summer art classes, workshops, studio sessions, and events.

Reservations are required for the Artists Speak. Tickets are $20 per lecture.

The Art Barge is located at 110 Napeague Meadow Road in Amagansett. For more information on The Art Barge or the Artists Speaks series, visit The Art Barge.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didnít change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
