It's a busy end of the weekend for the Montauk Historical Society and Second House Museum, who will present several exciting events on Sunday, May 22nd. Happenings include their 3rd Annual Doggie Social, 3rd Annual Community Yard Sale, and 3rd Annual Treasures from the East.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., browse through unique finds during a local book fair, as part of Treasures from the East. "We are including a book sale thanks to the numerous community members who have made this possible through generous donations," explained Kathryn Nadeau, President of the Montauk Historical Society. "We have a great collection, at great prices."

The 3rd Annual Doggie Social will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Museum grounds. "For a donation of $20, people walk their dogs around Fort Pond - 100 percent of donations go to future museum programs at Second House Museum," Nadeau noted. "The ARF mobile van will be on site for adoptions, come on down and take home a furry friend in need of a home."

Additionally, the fundraiser for the Society's Second House Museum will include the 3rd Annual Community Yard Sale, which is back by popular demand. "This year our yard sale will be featuring community members who, for a $50 donation, rent a 12x 12 space to sell their treasures -community style," explained Nadeau. "The MHS will be selling 'treasures' from the Second House to make way for our restoration (hopefully to begin this fall!!) at which time our furnishings will be period-correct to the mid 1800's." They hope to welcome the largest number of vendors yet. "Our goal is to have this event grow each year, and to INCLUDE the community in this spring fundraiser," she added. "Please know: it's not too late to sign up. Show up the morning of Sunday, May 22nd on the front lawn of the Second House Museum at 8 a.m." To reserve a spot, call 631-786-7039. The yard sale is not open to retail businesses though.

After working up a sweat during the walk around Fort Pond or burning off a few calories as you score sweet shopping deals, attendees can visit Shawn Christman's The Sea Bean food truck for delicious food, drink, and treats.

100 percent of proceeds from the event will be used for future educational programs and restoration of the museum.

Second House is located at 10 Second House Road in Montauk. For more information, call 631-668-2544 or visit www.montaukhistoricalsociety.org.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
