Not planning a trip across the pond anytime soon, but still want to take part in one of the United Kingdom’s treasured traditions? Join Westhampton Free Library for a spot of tea on Saturday, February 6th and Saturday, March 19th during the Libray’s Tea and the BBC.
At 2 p.m., guests will gather for the winter warm-up, where they’ll watch the latest and greatest of the BBC while sipping on the beloved British beverage. “This is a yearly tradition,” shared Rachel Mayo, Westhampton Free Library’s Assistant Circulation Supervisor. “A spot of tea and the BBC. How lovely.”
The Library has been hosting the popular program for four years and attendees enjoy all of the classic afternoon tea fixings. “We serve herbal teas, black teas and decaffeinated teas,” noted Marie Weiss, Marketing Coordinator of the Westhampton Free Library. “We also have foods such as cucumber sandwiches and scones.”
As for what is typically screened, the Library tries to present something new each session. “In the past we have shown TV series The Paradise and Berkeley Square,” Weiss added. “Each year we find new and/or different shows to share with the patrons.”
Westhampton Free Library is located at 7 Library Avenue in Westhampton Beach. For more information, call 631-288-3335 or visit westhamptonlibrary.net.
