Following its Festival of Lights last weekend, Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce is keeping in the holiday spirit by presenting a Dickens Family Holiday Festival on Saturday, December 12th. From sweets workshops to a battle of the best beard and mustache to meet and greets with The Big Guy in red, the Victorian era-themed festival will have something for the entire family.
The Village-wide holiday season extravaganza will kickoff with a visit from Santa and a Toys for Tots drive at Kerrigan Country Realty from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a Holiday Sleigh Photo-Op on the Village Green from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., a Victorian Paper Dolls and Coloring workshop at Baby Shock from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the chance to satisfy your sweet tooth during a Make Your Own Hot Cocoa Kit class at Impulse for Men from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a Poinsettia Sale on the Village Green from 11 to 4 p.m. Dance Centre of the Hamptons will showcase its skills during performances on the Village Green from 12 to 1 p.m. and for a laugh, stop by the Westhampton Free Library, who is presenting screenings of “The Muppet Christmas Carol” from 12 to 2 p.m. Warm up during Tea Time with Teddy at The Patio during a sitting at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., or 2 p.m. Following his magical meeting at Kerrigan Country Realty, Father Christmas will be making his way to the Village Green Gazebo, where he will welcome children of all ages to sit on his lap and tell him their Yuletide wishes from 12 to 2 p.m. If you’re still in the mood for something decadent, get creative during a Sugar Cookie Decorating Workshop on the Village Green from 12 to 2 p.m. Think your beard game is on point? Make sure to be at Lillian’s Hair Salon at 12:30 p.m. for a Dickens Whisker Wars-Beard & Mustache Competition. Ladies can up their mani game with free candy cane nail art at Lillian’s Hair Salon from 1 to 3 p.m. Learn the inner workings of an oyster cage as you construct one during a workshop at 2 p.m. on the Village Green. The final event is a Main Street Scavenger Hunt from 2 to 3 p.m. And, when you work up an appetite by partaking in festival happenings, make sure to walk along Main Street, where food vendors will be set up at Sexton Commons.
Attendees are encouraged to really embrace the afternoon’s theme by donning Victorian attire.
